Get involved

Help build what Alberta bikepacking is missing.

You do not need to be a legal member of the Society to contribute. The broader ABS Community is intended to be open, practical and collaborative.

Routes

Contribute a route.

Know a route worth documenting? ABS will create a submission process for route ideas, existing routes and local connectors that deserve a closer look.

Verification

Ride a section. Report what changed.

Routes age. Roads wash out, services close, gates appear and conditions change. Route verification can be one of the most useful community contributions.

Stories

Write or photograph Alberta.

Ride reports, community stories, practical knowledge and strong photography can help build a richer picture of bikepacking across the province.

Stewardship

Become a Route Steward.

Over time, ABS will look for riders willing to keep an eye on specific routes, collect updates and help maintain reliable information.

Volunteer

Bring the skill you already have.

Mapping, GIS, writing, photography, web work, event support, local knowledge, advocacy and administration can all become useful as ABS grows.

Community

Use it. Share it. Improve it.

The simplest contribution is participating: ride the routes, send useful feedback, support communities along the way and help make the information better.

Participation should not require a paywall.

ABS is being built around free public routes and resources rather than paid access.

People who value the work will be able to contribute time, knowledge, route updates, writing, photography or voluntary financial support.
